The Association Of Korean Oriental Medicine

It has contributed to the enhancement of the oriental medicine as a

global medical science. 332 professionals from more than 34

countries participated in the 13th congress held in Korea in 2005. The

14th was held in Taipei of Taiwan in Dec 2007 and the 15th will be held

in Japan in Feb 2010.

● Exchange between South and North Korea

The some scholars and practitioners of the Association visited to

Pyongyang and had a seminar on “Present and future of national

medicine in South and North Korea”in 2003. The 2nd seminar was

held in Pyongyang in Dec 2006 and the 3rd one will be held in North

Korea in 2009.

Continuing Education

The association administers the continuing education for KOM

doctors, which is committed by the Ministry of Health

Welfare and

Family according to the medical law(art. 28) and the constitution of the

association as a part of extended education for lifetime to improve the

competence of the members as medical professionals. All the

members except those exempted shall complete the programs and

acquire over 8 credits every year.
